AG elektronische Musik hören
Die als AG konzipierte Zusatzveranstaltung richtet
sich an Studierende, die ihr Wissen über elektronische Musik vertiefen
wollen. Die AG soll ein informelles Forum bieten, auch über aktuelle ästhetische
Fragen zu sprechen. Vor allem möchten wir uns für etwas Zeit nehmen,
das in Seminarsitzungen oft zu kurz kommt: Im Vordergrund steht das Hören
elektronischer Musik, ohne Rücksicht auf Stil- und Gattungsgrenzen. Klangbeispiele
werden gemeinsam ausgewählt und kommentiert. 'Klassiker' und aktuelle Kompositionen
sind unsere Diskussionsgrundlagen.

Ende der 70er Jahre formierte sich in den USA die "Disco Sucks" Bewegung. Initiiert von DJ Steve Dahl aus Detroit, machten Organisationen wie "DREAD" ("Detroit Rockers Engaged in the Aboliton of Disco") oder die "Insane Coho Lips Antidisco Army" von sich reden. Beim "Disco Demolition Derby" 1979 im Comiskey Park Baseball Stadion in Chicago wurden in der Halbzeit des Spiels Chicago White Socks gegen Detroit Tigers ca. 100.000 Disco-Platten in die Luft gesprengt. Da der Platz wegen der herumliegenden Trümmer nicht mehr bespielbar war, wurde das Match abgebrochen und zugunsten der Tigers entschieden.

Zum Semesterende verlegen wir unsere letzte AG-Sitzung ins AStA-Wohnzimmer. Auf dem Programm steht eine lange elektronische Komposition von Eliane Radigue mit dem Titel "Adnos I". Radigue studierte in den 50er Jahren elektroakustische Komposition bei Pierre Schaeffer und war Assistentin von Pierre Henry in dessen Studio in Paris. Frühe Versuche mit durch Rückkopplung erzeugten Klängen trafen auf große Skepsis ihrer Mentoren. Doch unbeirrt von jeder Kritik fand Radigue zu ihrem eigenen Stil. Ihre Vorliebe für ausgedehnte Kompositionen mit schwebenden Klängen machten sie zu einer Pionierin der Minimal Music. In den 70er Jahren wurde Radigue Anhängerin des Buddhismus. Ihre Arbeiten sind seitdem stark von der Beschäftigung mit dieser Lehre geprägt. "Adnos I" ist Teil einer Trilogie, die zwischen 1975 und 1983 entstand. Der Titel basiert auf einem lateinischen Wortspiel. "Ad" heißt "auf etwas zugehen", "nos" steht für "wir". Realisiert wurde das selten aufgeführte, etwa 70 minütige Stück, ausschließlich auf einem ARP Synthesizer. Der Zyklus wurde 2002 bei dem US- Label Table of the Elements erstmals veröffentlicht. Er verlangt dem Zuhörer höchste Aufmerksamkeit ab.
"To move stones around in the bed of a river does not affect its course, but can only change the play of the waves on the surface. And so, the sound energy alters the course of the flowing fields of resonance. [...] In the conch formed by sound waves, the ear filters, selects and emphasizes some areas of hearing, the same way as one's eyes would look at the shimmering of water, at the same time absent and multiple, oriented towards an outside whose image lives reflected in the inner universe."
